Exhibition 'Dnipro. River of memory'

On December 6th at 4:30 PM, the opening of the exhibition "Dnipro. River of Memory" will take place at the DCCC Experimental Studio.

This project was created by participants of the "Gallery Lab" youth educational program run by the Artsvit Gallery. It is based on the gallery's collection, with the central theme being the river and memory as a tool for constructing self-perception.

The participants of the "Gallery Lab" reflect on the Dnipro River—a witness and participant in various historical events that has absorbed memories, particularly of industrialization and war. By addressing the image of the river, the exhibition speaks about nostalgia for what was lost during times when the future is so uncertain and frightening. It addresses the dark spots in our memories—the uncomfortable and traumatic moments that poison life but cannot be erased. Instead, the exhibition proposes constructing a dialogue with the past, without silencing or avoiding anything, in order to reframe pain and transform it into knowledge, thus enabling us to act differently in the future.

The exhibition will be open until December 23, 2025. Admission is free. Experimental Studio, 2nd floor.

The project is implemented with the support of the Goethe-Institut in Ukraine, MC6 Creative Residency, and the NGO "Insha Osvita" (Another Education) as part of the "Cultural Resistance" project, funded by the Eastern Partnership program of the Federal Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany.
