Exhibition Graze Pavlo the Coow
On October 24 at 6:30 PM, a new exhibition by Dnipro-based artist Bohdan Buchkovskyi will open at Artsvit Gallery.
Pavlo, Graze the Cow is Buchkovskyi's first solo exhibition. The project showcases works created after the full-scale invasion, capturing the artist’s search for a new visual language and the gradual revival of his creative practice.
Buchkovskyi draws on meditative practices and the philosophy of stoicism, emphasizing the importance and therapeutic role of daily physical labor. The artist’s decision to forgo priming his canvases — a process that typically ensures durability and strength — reflects the uncertainty of the future and the fragility of the present.
In his quest for new ways to express himself, the artist turns to the futuristic poetry of Mykhail Semenko, particularly to the practice of "poezomalearstvo" (poetry-painting), where visual and verbal languages blend.
Semenko's poem Pavlo, graze the cow! becomes central to Buchkovskyi's project. This phrase serves as a call to continue working despite circumstances and to explore familiar spaces with a renewed artistic approach.
The exhibition will be on display at Artsvit Gallery until January 11, 2025.
