The film explores a female veteran's adaptation in 16th-17th-century post-war Europe. Oscar nominee Sandra Hüller stars in the lead role.
In a Europe devastated by the Thirty Years' War, a mysterious soldier appears in a secluded village, declaring himself the heir to an abandoned estate. The villagers greet the stranger with suspicion, but this person is hiding a secret far greater than the origin of their papers. Beneath men's clothing hides a woman named Rosa, who is ready to go to any lengths for a new life. Even to marrying a local farmer's daughter.
Following the screening, there will be a discussion about women at war with representatives of the VETERANKA movement.
The voiceover dubbing was created by the VETERANKA movement together with Arthouse Traffic and BAKER STREET sound studio with the support of the Goethe-Institut Ukraine.
