Screening of the movie "Special Operation"
On November 29 at 6:30 PM, the DCCC Cinema will screen the documentary film "Special Operation" by Oleksiy Radynski.
The film is created based on surveillance camera footage recorded during the occupation of the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant (CNPP) in February 2022. Without dialogue or traditional narrative, "Special Operation" places us in the position of witnesses to the events, showing how Russian military personnel acted on the territory of the CNPP.
The film had its world premiere at the 2025 Berlin International Film Festival.
"When the Russian army occupied the Chornobyl NPP in February 2022, they switched off some of the surveillance cameras — but others continued recording. In this feature-length documentary, made entirely from surveillance camera footage, Oleksiy Radynski and his team demonstrate to the world the silent horror of the occupation and the banality of the evil unleashed by the Russian army in Ukraine," says Serhii Plokhy.
Admission is free, with prior registration.
The DCCC Cinema is a space for independent cinema in Dnipro, a platform for discussing contemporary cinematography, documentary filmmaking, and audiovisual art. It focuses on screening auteur and experimental films.
