Screening of The Sound of Cologne
On March 27 at 18:30, the DCCC cinema will host a screening of a film about Cologne’s electronic music scene.
The Sound of Cologne is a documentary journey through the musical history of Cologne, a city globally recognized as a hub for electronic music. Since the 1950s, musicians and DJs from around the world have come here to boldly experiment with modulators and noise generators at the legendary WDR studio. As a result, they created tracks that reshaped electronic music.
The film introduces us to the key figures of Cologne’s electronic music scene—from the first radical avant-garde composers like Karlheinz Stockhausen to the groundbreaking band CAN, the independent music label Kompakt, and the record store and label A-Musik.
Language: German, with Ukrainian subtitles.
