Warm Optics Exhibition
On Friday at 6:30 PM, the Artsvit Gallery will open the exhibition Warm Optics by artist Lusia Ivanova.
Warm Optics is an attempt to explore how artistic vision shifts through the experience of war, emigration, and motherhood in an unstable world. Lusia Ivanova’s works address the theme of everyday life—transformed and now perceived through the lens of loss and personal upheaval.
The exhibition is conditionally divided into three parts: the Dnipro period (2017–2022), the time of full-scale war, and a new visual language. These sections bring together works from the early stages of Lusia’s painting practice, inspired by Dnipro’s urban environment; landscapes and portraits of city dwellers created in the first months of the full-scale invasion; and images from her journey into motherhood, blending fantasy, tenderness, and tension.
A separate series, Warm Optics, features works based on photographs taken through a thermal imaging camera. By merging a technical instrument with emotional perception, the artist creates a new way of looking at her homeland. This project invites viewers to witness and reflect on how contemporary art can capture life’s experiences in times of uncertainty and catastrophe.
Curators: Liza Herman and Maria Lanko.
Free entry. The exhibition runs until June 14.
The project was created in collaboration with The Naked Room gallery.
